Treatments

At Dentique we believe that prevention is better than cure and we focus on giving patients the information they need to properly care for their mouths at home. Home care has been shown to be at least as important as professional intervention in keeping teeth for life.

We offer a full range of preventive and general restorative dentistry to care for your everyday dental needs, as well as implants and specialised cosmetic dentistry to enhance your smile. Our dental treatments are pain free and are delivered in a relaxing environment.

We’ll ask you to book a consultation appointment when you first join the practice. At this appointment a thorough dental and medical history is taken, you will receive a thorough examination and we will give you a dental treatment plan to consider and discuss. We have plenty of time to spend with you to discuss your queries, options and choices for a successful outcome. Please browse the tabs to find out more about the dental treatments we offer, and feel free to contact us if you are unsure about anything.

  • Preventative Treatment

At Dentique we truly believe that prevention is better than cure, and that tooth decay and gum disease are both preventable. Research shows that patients’ home care is as important as professional treatment when maintaining oral health and keeping teeth for life – we approach it as a team effort.

Our Clinical Team will advise you on the best ways to care for your oral health and this will help you fight against gum disease and decay. Regular appointments allow us to monitor your oral health and we will intervene at the earliest stage should further treatment be needed. Dietary advice, fissure sealants (resin applications applied to the biting surfaces of back teeth) and flouride treatments are offered to help reduce decay and these can be especially valuable in children.

  • Restorative Treatment

At Dentique we believe that everyone deserves to be confident in their smile with a mouth that is free from discomfort. Our Clinical Team and Dental Therapists will scale and polish your teeth using the latest Piezon super stain removing treatments and if necessary we can offer deeper cleaning and antibiotic therapies to treat difficult areas or advanced problems.

Decayed or broken teeth can be restored with white mercury-free fillings assisting function and eliminating disease. Weak, crooked, discoloured or misaligned teeth may be restored with a crown (or a cap) or a veneer (a thin porcelain layer). A dead tooth may benefit from a root filling before the tooth is restored.

For missing teeth, the most popular and permanent solution has to be the dental implant. Implants offer a comfortable, permanent and more pleasing option than dentures, although removable dentures and fixed bridges are still an option to restore function and appearance.

  • Orthodontics

Braces are no longer just for children. Crooked or crowded teeth can be repositioned at almost any age with fixed braces, removable appliances or invisible ‘Invisalign’ braces. At Dentique we also offer Damon Brackets, these use light high-technology shape-memory wires that can in some instances move teeth faster with fewer adjustments.

Orthodontics and braces are all about visual aesthetics, but an uneven bite can cause problems with the jaw joint and muscles causing headaches and migraines and crooked teeth are harder to maintain and clean which increases the chance of gum disease or decay. At Dentique, we also offer Lingual Orthodontics which in some cases allows us to fix braces on the inside surface of the teeth.

  • Invisalign

Dentique are pleased to offer the people of Leicester the latest in adult orthodontics – Invisalign. The invisible way to straighten teeth without braces, metal wires or brackets.

By wearing different sets of aligners for 2 weeks at a time, removing them only to eat, drink and brush/floss, your teeth will be moved week by week. Total treatment times average between 6 and 15 months with the number of aligners worn usually between 18 and 30, but both vary from case to case.

Invisalign can help you achieve the great smile you have always wanted with numerous benefits; It’s virtually invisible, so no one will know that you are straightening your teeth. It is removable when eating and drinking and it is comfortable with no metal or wires that can cause mouth abrasions.

  • Implants

Dental implants are a great solution for missing teeth. Titanium screws replace missing roots and bone grows tightly around these implants providing a secure platform for a tooth to be placed on top. Dental implants may be used as singles or multiples, making them a secure and versatile option for securing crowns, bridges and even dentures. The result looks great, is 100% comfortable and is as strong as your natural teeth.

Our principle Dentist Ian Clift holds a postgraduate diploma in Implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons and has over 30 years experience, having placed over 10,000 implants in that time.

  • Teeth Whitening

Zoom Teeth Whitening is very safe and effective system that takes about 2 hours with a clinician to complete. For optimum results, we also provide a Home Whitening Treatment Kit to use for 2 weeks, 2 hours at a time. A free consultation will be carried out before treatment in order to check whether it is suitable. Please note that Crowns and Veneers will not benefit from the treatment.

  • Lasers

Lasers are the new cutting edge technology in professional dental practices. Waterlase is a safe and gentle alternative to traditional dental tools. Using laser technology and a fine water spray, Waterlase can perform many procedures without anaesthetic or the need for a drill.

Dental diode lasers are ideal for procedures involving soft tissue treatments and contouring. They are capable of creating precision cuts while also eliminating bleeding at the site and reducing the healing time for the patient. Soft tissue lasers are also ideal for sterilising endodontic canals, treating periodontal disease and tooth whitening.
